44 magnum, too much "neck tension" for cast

^ Drool, drool. Yes. If I had a 44 magnum, I would buy that, period.

I'm gonna have to figure out how to navigate that mess of a website, now. That size of expander plug, off-the-shelf, is news to me, and I have other calibers to perfect.

*edit: I was just a little slow. The website is pretty good, actually. I would be buying some expander plugs, ASAP, but the two in my cart are both SOLD OUT!!! :)

RCBS makes a cowboy action dies that I think are for similar situations. But for some reasons details about them are very scarce

Yes! RCBS Cowboy is the only common die set that accommodates lead bullet loading across the whole set (+.001). For 44 in Magnum I had to order the shorter seating plug. The default plug is for 44 S&W Special.

Hornady Cowboy is a waste because the set includes only a larger expander, causing all the cases to stick following a standard diameter sizer. I sent my set back to Hornady and they returned it as "in spec". Anybody want a die set for a paperweight?

For calibers outside the offering in COWBOY dies, I have had good success with Lyman dies coming after the Redding Dual Ring Carbide Sizer. The Lyman M-die is the trick.
