A while ago there was a good article on 44 special loads. I think it was in American Handgunner magazine. I can't find it, I might have thrown it out:banghead:
If you can post or list the loads it would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Michael

I have the article I think but what 44 special are you uisng. The article if memory is working listed 3 levels of pistols in 44 special. Let me know what you have and I will look for the article and list the loads as they are in the article and before warned I assume no Liabiltity in the loads being correct or safe in your pistol

Thanks so Much

Thats the article I'm looking for. The one with 3 levels of loads from low pressures to higher levels. It was a great article. I'm going to be using the loads in a 624.
Thanks
Michael

Here they are and just a word of caution they are all hot loads and go pass what SSAMI calls safe working loads in the 44 special. So you are warned and I don't garantee that I copied all the loads right or that the printer got them right from Mr. pearce.
I would work up each load very carefully and see what they did in my pistol as I know that in my pistol which is one that Mr Pearce used to get these loads will handle some and not others it is just my pistol as are all unique unto themselves.

You 624 will handle some of the heavier loads for sure. Not sure exactly what you want but let me suggest two loads. I use these with the Lyman 429421 bullet at 250 grs. First is the Skeeter load of 7.5 grs. of Unique. This is a very good load and a standard by which all others were judged for years.

The second load I've shot more of than any other in my MMC converted M-28 is 15 grs. of 2400 with the above bullet. It's very accurate though a little dirty. I discussed this load with Mr. Pearce before the article and the pressure reading he gave for the load was milder than I thought. I was a little worried about beating the 1978 conversion up but he assured the little sixgun could be shot many thousands of rounds using that load with no harm. Anyway take all this for what it's worth. I found a long time ago that my opinion and a dollar will get you a cup of coffee.......Creeker
