So I know that a lot of people out there don't like Charter Arms revolvers, but thought I would share some pics of my .44 Special that I just got back from Magnaport. I didn't get it ported, but I had some other work done. I had them file down the front sight, and replace it with an XS Big Dot Tritium sight. I also had them mini bob the hammer, and jewel and polish the hammer and trigger.
Just waiting on my Simply Rugged Holster to show up any day now to complete my new trail gun.
Badger make them, but they are only big enough to get two fingers around making your pinky dangle. Not sure if Hogue makes wood grips for the .44 or not.
The barrel measures in at 2.5 inches, and my j frame has a 1 7/8 barrel. It is a bit wider as .44 rounds are girthier than .38 or .357. I think it weighs in at about 19 oz.
That would be sweet. I have an SP101 in .357. I Also had a tritium sight installed on that piece as well. It is a bit hefty though, and doesn't hide in a pocket as well.
