Lead cast 174 (ish) grain tcfp bullets in a NEW ruger super Blackhawk 7.5in load data
Unique had always been my GO TO pistol powder for the las 30+ yrs. any suggestions on a starting charge weight 6 6.5 7. Ect

That’s about what I was thinking. I used 13 gn unique 185 gn JHP in my 44 mag super 14 contender for years. Just bought the 44 super Blackhawk 7.5. Tried the 13 gn in it. NOT TWICE! Likened to break my hand and you gotta love the squared trigger guard of the BH perfect for knuckle dislocation.

6 makes a pop that sounds wrong and leaves soot and powder. 6.5 is just getting to where that doesn't happen. 7 is where it starts behaving the way it should. 9 is as high as I go, and it's where I start shooting SA for comfort.

Obviously, I'm not the most precise reloader.

7.5 in .44 Spl. cases is a great load in both .44 mag and sturdier .44 Spl. Guns.

Here are some with some 200 Gr. Egglestons. Those are also great in Spl. cases over 7.5 gr. Unique.

9.0 gr Unique with those 175’s in Magnum cases are a great combo for me in the 4” Mountain Gun. Decent power without a lot of recoil.

Stay safe.
