.45-70, Recoil Not Bad

I had the opportunity to shoot a Magnum Research BFR in .45-70 over the weekend. I expected the recoil and muzzle blast to be on the level of rediculous, however, it was very manageable.

Anyone else have similiar experience? Has anyone been able to shoot one of these and compared it to the new S&W .460?

I also had the chance to run a cylinder through a friend's 45-70 BFR. My impression was the same as yours. Not sure if this was because the gun's owner was downloading his cartridges or what, but recoil was not bad at all.
