I recently purchased a Magnum Research BFR in 45-70. I am going to start loading some ammo for it next week and am looking for input as to maximum yet safe loads. The manual says "up to lever action 45-70 ammo." Does this mean handloading lever action loads or factory lever action loads which are a lot weaker? I don't plan on shooting a ton of super hot loads due to recoil but it would be really fun to shoot a few. Does anyone have any experience with handloading for the BFR 45-70? Thanks in advance for any input.

I use 25 grains of 2400 with the 300 grn jacketed bullets
and 12 grains of Trail Boss for the lead 405 grain
The 2400 might be a little interesting but not dangerous, lot of flash I think
the Trail Boss would be nice though

Always double check with a loading manual or online manual
