Hello to All,

I am starting to reload for USPSA. My goad is to have a highly accurate round while lowered the amount of recoil.

I've been told to lower the weight of the bullet and the amount of power used, but know there are probably thousands of variations out there.

SO, I figured I would pick everyone's brain on the best 45 ACP load for competition.

Many Thanks,
Joe

makin' Major

Let's assume a 5" 1911; let's assume you wish to 'make Major'.

230g RN (I use lead because it costs less, and will never wear out your barrel), sized case, CCI300, OAL 1.245--1.265", 5.0--5.3g W231.
These last two numbers are based on your specific gun.

Proven: CCI300, sized case, 230g LRN, 5.1g W231, OAL 1.260"+/-.005", crimp .469--.471".
Av (from innumerable test guns) = 740ish.......
