I went to Walmart tonight and stopped by the gun counter to check on the ammo prices for the WWB bulk packs. I had been hearing here and other places that ammo was going up at the end of the year.
9mm went up a dollar as did 40:mad: , but 45 dropped 3 dollars.:D

Everytime I ask down here, they just tell me they have trouble keeping ammo in stock. 100 packs are about $22. Sometimes they are $20. Still not a bad price.

I like Academy also, but their pistol ammo prices are always just a hair over good. More selection than Walmart though.

Well, talking to another THR member here in Phx, it seems that Walmarts prices varies from store to store.

IIRC the 9mm was 12.88 up from 11.88 a month ago. The .40 was 17 something up from 16 something. The .45 dropped from 25 to 22 something.

But talking to other people, Wally Worlds on the other side of town had .45s for 19.99 but now is 22 something.:scrutiny:

I dont know whats going on?

I saw $19.99 for a long time over on the east side of town... Gilbert, AJ and Mesa.

I didn't buy for a while (reloading) and recently was back in the ammo section at various walmarts, and 45acp was running about $22 in Scottsdale, North Phoenix and back over in the 60 corridor.

What I have seen troubling is Midway USA jacked up their prices for 500 packs of various bullets. Used to be between $45-$60, depending on whether it was Rainier plated ball or Speer Gold Dot in 45acp or Remington PSP 165gr in .30 caliber. Now the Speer Gold Dot 45acp 500 packs are going around $75 and the Remington PSP 165gr 500 packs are right around there.

Lead and copper are going up, it seems. Bummer.

"my local wally has cci brass 45 acp for $10 per 50. Shoots just fine, and the brass reloads nicely."

My local Walmart has it for the same, I switched to it when they started being perpetually sold out of WWB. I like the CCI better, it seems cleaner to me, and turns out to be cheaper too. I do my best to boycott Walmart, but I still buy practice ammo once in a while from them, as they're always the cheapest, and my brother's 10% discount makes it irresistable.

The Walmart near the Mall of Georgia in Lawrenceville, GA (Buford?) was selling 250 round bulk packs of Remington UMC .45 hardball for $55.

Not a bad price.

I just picked up some 45 acp WWB 100 value packs from Wally World at $22.99. Still not a bad price, but not what it was. I'm just glad that my local Wally World is carry ammo again

One thing I haven't found in my local Walmarts is 9mm brass...

For the guys in CA, I've heard they are pushing to ban Lead bullets in CA, so your price may be some enviro-levy for lead, one thing to consider.

Don't worry about the price of ammo at my Wal-mart any more. They quit selling guns and dropped most ammo except a few shotgun shells and a very limited amount of .22 rimfire stuff.:cuss:

Walmart not selling ammo there? WEIRD...

just bought WWB 115gr 100 round pack, 12.88

WWB 9mm 147 gr 50 round box 9.89

not shooting much .45..so didn't price that..

seems like i saw the Remington 100 rd box for 12.something too

Strange, both wally's world in southern Utah have rifles, shotguns and a good choice of ammo...................

When it gets down to a buck and a half a box of 50, let me know. That's what a box costs me.

They still sell ammo here, but no guns, something about being a "coastal fishing" store, as if there's no hunting here or something. No matter, we got a new Academy in a nearby town. :D
