Does anyone know if it would be possible to take a
Ruger Redhawk in .45 Colt and have a gunsmith make changes
to the cylinder to allow both .45 ACP using moon clips and .45 Colt w/o clips?

I know there is a Blackhawk with a separate cylinder for each.
(I'd rather have a double action then a single action)

If possible I think it would be a great setup. .45 ACP is common
and relatively cheap. .45 Colt can be loaded to the .44 Mag. range.
It would be a very flexible sidearm.

What do you guys think?

wow! that is awesome! thanks! and the price is more then reasonable.

Yes you can and use the same moonclips as an S&W. Also don't forget that you can now download .45 Win Mag cases.

Well, I just say a Ruger 454 / 45 LC Alaskan sitting in a gun shop at a too good to be true price. I thought about picking it up it was so cheap, but did really care for the caliber.
If I can get it converted to shoot .45 ACP on the cheap then I just may have to pick this one up.
