I own an M25-2 and am contemplating buying a Redhawk 45 Colt/45 ACP.

Can they use the same moon clips?

The Redhawk moon clips are thinner than the Smith & Wesson so they may not. The Smith & Wesson clips may not allow the Ruger cylinder to close.
Ruger specific clips are readily available though. The only problem may be keeping the separated from your S&W if both are of the same design.

That seems rather silly. The biggest advantage to rimless cartridges in revolvers is they can use thicker moonclips than rimmed cartridges and Ruger goes an makes their 45 ACP moonclips thinner than the robust and very well proven 25/625 moonclip.
