45 colt wadcutters

I have not. I've used double-ended wadcutters in the cartridge, which work about the same as anything else. I've never come across any swaged HBWCs in that diameter, though, and casting HBs is obnoxious enough that I go out of my way to avoid it.

Please let us know how those work out for you.

I have not. Looks like something I should try. Thanks for posting.

I have a 175 grain DEWC mold and a 264 grain "button nose" Wadcutter mold. 6.0 grains TG with the 175 grain DEWC seated flush got 778 FPS out of a S&W 25-2. 5.2 grains TG behind the 264 grain bullet got 690 FPS. The 264 grain button nose bullet sticks out a bit from the case by .25" or so. Those are the only 2 wadcutter loads I have chronographed with Titegroup. Cross reference those loads before using them as I have no idea where I got them from. I assume they are standard 45 Colt loads but cannot guarantee so I added disclaimer.

How timely! I just got 500 225 grain Rim Rock DEWCs in .45 and plan to load them over 8 grains of Unique. I bought the 200 grain .44 version and they shoot extremely well in .44 Special and .44 Magnum. Happy shooting with those!
