I have an Armi Sport (Chiappa Firearms) Spencer reproduction in 45 Long Colt. I have trouble ejecting spent cartridges because of the small rims of the 45 LC. Does anyone know for CERTAIN if I can safely shoot 45 Schofield ammo from this rifle? Thanks

Schofield round is just shorter, I don't see a safety issue.
Possibly a feeding issue.

Safe? Yes, but more expensive.

I wouldn't be surprised is the schofield ammo you find has the exact same rim that your colt ammo has.

This is why no company made repeater type rifles in .45Colt back in the 19th century, besides the fact they were using balloon-head cases which were also weaker in the rim area, as well as smaller.

As stated the problem you have may be feeding issues. If it works, it will be safe as the Schofield is a weaker cartridge. I have run the Schofield through my Uberti SAA without any issues. But of course you don't have to worry about feeding the round with a lever actuated mechanism with a handgun.

Check the rim size on various .45 Colt offerings. Hornady .45 Colt brass has significantly smaller rim and gives extraction problems in many lever action rifles. Starline rims are slightly larger and extract fine.
