Took to the range. Adjusted the elevation and windage at 100 yards at about 2.5 inches high. It was a challenge with my old eyes. And I have to do something with that trigger.

Congrats on getting it out (and finding ammo!) How was recoil? Did the porting do anything beyond making noise?

I zeroed with a sled. So recoil was not an issue. They told me it was loud. Plenty of muzzle jump.

I should think a tang-mounted peep with a minimal aperture would go a long way to helping your eyes out.

The trigger assembly can be made every bit as good as a vintage Winchester (excluding the broken-in factor) with a bit of be-burring and stoning. I had an AE .44 (FOOL to sell that one!:cuss:) with a trigger assembly that came right 'round with about 2.5 hours of attention including disassembly and reassembly. A Marbles tang sight sharpened the sight picture right up. I don't remember the aperture size I settled on but it was remarkably small and very easy to look around.

Todd.
