I have two questions regarding the 4506.

A) Are there any good online retailers that are currently selling them at reasonable prices?

B) Where can I order an extended slide stop and/or mag release for a 4506. I know the slide stops exist, I've seen them before, but I don't know where to get one and google searches haven't helped.

I had a 4506 awhile back that I REALLY regret selling, and I want to get one again. I was just wondering if there was a good place other than gunbroker to get one. Plus, I want to get the extended slide stop because one of the reasons I rationalized selling my old 4506 is that I couldn't reach it.

Can anyone help? Thanks!

Heh. If you find out where the extended slide stops are, let me know. I have my old duty-gun 4506, and one of my biggest complaints is that there was no way I could reach the slide release without using my off hand.

And, wow. That link? What an amazingly ugly modification to the 4506. I do like that slide release, though.

Will do. Now that I see these things exist, I REALLY regret selling that 4506. If I can find one of those slide stops, I will be buying a 4506 again for sure.

toasterlocker:

Try summitgunbroker.com. I bought a 4506 from him last year for only $330 plus shipping. (It was pretty scuffed and dingged, but polished up nicely.) He's got a 4566 (?) right now for $379.

Coronach, I don't think we will have much luck finding that slide stop. I joined the SW forums just to ask about it, and they told me it was an Ed Brown part that has been discontinued. I've tried ebay and gunbroker and just google and I haven't found anything. Very disappointing.

If you ever find some, buy two. Or point me to that site. I'll do the same for you.

That is a very worthy addition to the 4506.

If you are in the metro Atlanta area I can tell you where to find one. I was just looking at one today but opted for something else. I also regret selling mine. It's an excellent gun.

The seller e-mailed me today. All the jerk had to say was "I don't know, buy the gun." Funny, because the wording of the auction made it sound like he did the upgrades, therefore you would think he would know where they came from.

And Coronach, if I find more than one, I will definitely get one for you.
