.451 or .452?

Are you bridging the grove???
lol groove. Not my bullet. I have loaded similar bullets in both .45ACP and .45Colt. In my opinion they’re better for revolvers than self loaders because of the crimp groove’s placement.

I was just trying to add a question to your response. I would love that bullet in 45c but I imagine going long is not an option for functional reasons....

Generally speaking, for modern 45 caliber barrels, cast bullets are sized to .452" diameter, and jacketed bullets are sized to .451" diameter.

Slugging your barrel will give you an idea if your barrel is machined large or small. Also, you can tailor your bullets to your barrel for the best accuracy. So, you can improve accuracy of your gun by have specially made bullets for the cartridge that is sized for your barrel.

Anyway, I get acceptable accuracy for me with .452 diameter cast bullets in my Colt 1911's and S&W Model 25 N-frames. Ditto if i switch to .451 diameter jacketed bullets. I won't win any bullseye competition but will definitely put the hurt on the paper I'm shooting at.
