I finally got to the range today. Shooting 455 Eley in a Uberti clone 45 Colt 4-5/8" barrel. Cases are made from 45 Colt blanks.

250 gr. RNFP from MBC

Unique 6.0 gr. Poor accuracy, Mod-Heavy recoil
Unique 6.5 gr. Poor accuracy, Mod-Heavy recoil
800-X 6.0 gr. Good accuracy, Moderate recoil
800-X 6.5 gr. Excellent accuracy, Moderate recoil
800-X 7.0 gr. Poor accuracy, Heavy recoil

200 gr. RNFP from MBC

Bullseye 4.7 gr. Medium accuracy, Moderate recoil. Shot low & left
Bullseye 5.0 gr. Medium accuracy, Moderate recoil
700-X 4.3 gr. Good accuracy, Moderate recoil

For this gun 6.5 gr. of 800-X with a 250 gr RNFP will be my load. 5 rounds in 1.5" at 15 yards is great for me. The cases were given to me, Starfire 45 Colt blanks that I was able to rework to the Eley dimensions. A friend has a barrel of cases, gave me a sackful and asked what I could do with them. Don't know if I will make any more, it is a lot of work. But it was a fun experiment.

Nice going..!

Have you a way to Chronograph these?

800X sounds interesting then.

I might just send off for some.
