.45ACP and .45GAP Dies

Do .45ACP dies also work when reloading .45GAP? Specifically, I am looking at the Lee Deluxe Carbide Die set? Thanks.

I'm guessing not since the seat/crimp die will probably be too short to apply a proper taper crimp to the .45gap.

I was looking on Midway's website and the product code for both the .45ACP and .45GAP dies for Redding were both the same.

Dimensionally, the only significant difference between the two cases is that the 45 GAP is .138" shorter than the ACP. RCBS has their dies built so that you can adjust them to work with the shorter GAP, while the others I know about do not.

Probably depends on the manufacturer....my Dillon carbides handles 45 GAP and ACP, just need to be adjusted per caliber.

Just like using dies for 38 Special / 357 or 44 Special / 44 Magnum, not an issue at all.

The tag on my RCBS .45ACP die box states they also load .45GAP.
