Is it safe to shoot this load through Ruger Black Hawk and Remington with cartridge convertion cylinder? I believe the charge will be about 17 grian of Pyrodex .If it is safe how can I seat this ball without it moving around or fall out of the case mouth? How can I apply enough lube on this round ball to keep the fouling soft ? or it is not matter with Pyrodex because it will not cake up like real Black powder. I read somewhere that this round ball is use for plinking and practice with light charge load with smokeless powder in .45 Colt but can not find anything about .45 ACP.

Not sure if you have one of the dual cylinder BlackHawks that have a 45 Long Colt cylinder and another in 45 ACP.

If you have a standard 45 long colt BlackHawk you will find that the 45 ACP case will not headspace properly in it or in a conversion cylinder made for 45 Long Colt for the Remington 1858. The ACP case headspaces on the case mouth and the LC headspaces on the rim. You could find some 45 Auto Rim brass that would probably work. To seat the ball in the case you would need to use a heavy roll crimp after resizing and the 45ACP shouldn't be crimped that way if you have the 45 ACP cylinder for the black hawk as it would affect head space. You could use corn meal as a filler under a lubricated OxYoke wad. I don't really understand the need for 45ACP, I'd stick with the 45 long colt brass.

Thank you for excellent information.I have the .45 ACP cylinder and whole case of dink up .45 brass that I can play with the Pyrodex load. I use Lee taper crimp die and it seem to work with 200 grain hard cast bullet .
