5" 1911 9MM magazine INFO needed...

I have just acquired a STI Trojan in 9mm. IT shoots very nice. Magazines seem to be kinda hard to get??.. heres my experience so far.

IT came with 2 different mags. Both Metalform mags. One has a groove stamped into the front of the mag lengthwise. The other has a spaces inside the mag, that the base of the rounds ride on.

The one with the stamped groove in the front feeds perfect with SD hollowpoints(Hydrashoks).

The ones with the spacer inside dont feed the same HP rounds at all.. they just stab right into the feedramp.


SO I bought 3 more Metalform mags, ones with removable baseplates, from brownells. They are all the internal spacer type, and wont feed the rounds I want.

Whats the skinny on this?? is one an older type??.. I want this to run, not hang me up..

Any other brand...I am dismayed Wilson doesn't make one in 9mm.

Any Mods info or tweeks are appreciated.

If these are the same 9 rounders as I use in my Springfield I would try the ones that Springfield sells. They are Metalforms but use a modified follower. I would call STI first and ask them. They should know.
