Has anyone successfully used a 5.56 pmags in thier 6.8 spc AR? I have a couple of Pri mags for my 6.8 and they work great but are expensive. I have numerous Pmags and they will hold my 6.8 handloads and manually cycle through the gun as well as my .223 loads. I am not going to the range for a few days or I would try myself. Just wondering.

Magpull says they can't make a PMAG for the larger diameter 6.8 because the plastic would be too thin. You will get the 5.56 PMAGs to work partially filled but they won't be near as good as the PRIs.

I have not tried PMAGs for my 6.8SPCs; I use C-Products magazines and they've been both reliable and inexpensive.

I thought that they might work because I cycled a half dozen rounds through my rifle without a hitch. I can't easily and legally fire my gun where I live, so I'll have to try them later. As far as the C-Product mags are concerned, the price is right but I heard and read that they are not as reliable as the PRI mags. I can't say so from experience.

QC on the C-Products mags has been reported as spotty - mostly on their 5.56 mags, as they evidently tried to meet demand by simply moving the production line faster.... I have had zero issues with their latest 7.62x39 and 6.8SPC mags, but I'm not a super high round count shooter, either.

When I made my 6.8 AR I used regular mags that I trimmed to fit to be able to load and feed the rounds. Ater a bit I bought Barett mags for $40.00 ea. at a gun show. When I'm at the range both the Baretts and my "home" made ones work great. Buy some good mags and adapt them your self and save some money.

Blazerking that is what I am thinking. I have many Pmags and standard metal mags for other AR's that I am hoping will work. My favorite mag for my 6.8 is a Pri 10 rounder. I have some 20 and 30 round Pmags that I will try and adapt if necessary.

I've had near zero success with the C-Products 7.62x39 AR mags. I was about to give up on them when I noticed the spring ends matched the spring on an AK mag I happened to have apart. So I tried the commie AK spring in the C-Products 7.62 AR mag and haven't had a failure since! I ordered some Wolf AK springs and have fixed all mine.

The finish on the C-Products mags is poor and comes off if you look at it funny. I don't really care about this if the mags work, but others might.
