Best way to get a 5 inch S&W M29 is to have a 6 inch shortened. The 5 inch N frame is the best balanced IMHO. Some M29s were made but they are pricey. Right now the Classic is closest but I like the lighter barrel. If you go for the shortened barrel then I would use a front sight base that allows interchangeable blades. That helps if you want to use the heavy bullets.
