GUNKWAZY, I doubt your offer will be accepted.
As was alluded to in post #13, if you took a 6" Anaconda barrel and cut it down where would the vents in the rib go?
If you look closely you'll see the space between the vents is slightly longer than what is encountered with either the 4" or 6" Anaconda barrel.
Now surely you're not suggesting they ADDED a section in the middle of a 4" to make it longer are you?
But then to compare it to a $150 chop job was preposterious enough already.
Ever hear of a 3" Python? Would you say it was cut down?
Or a 4" Detective Special? Now what could you chop to make that? Perhaps weld two 2" together?
Colt, like many manufacturers, produces some non-standard barrel lengths from time to time.
And just because you called Colt and didn't get the information you wanted to hear doesn't mean that some of us can't.
I have a long time contact at Colt that I speak to quite often.
It's all a matter of knowing who to ask for and which extension to dial.
