Texas, baby!
while at the Pasadena Tx. gunshow today, I say that one of our favorite ammoguys- Amunitiontogo.com has the new Centurion 5mm ammo. No more scrounging!!! it is 20. bucks a box, or 190. for 500 rounds. Get it while you can!!! He also sells eley mach 2 ammo, and the new Aguila Interceptor 22lrs, the Fiocchi 22mag , and the new Hornady 22 mags.

Yeah, it was announced at SHOT, cool that you're already seeing it on shelves.

Any idea whether they're reintroducing rifles to go with it?

From Chuck Hawks' site, via Google:

"The Remington factory load drove a 38 grain Power-Lokt semi-spitzer hollow point bullet at a muzzle velocity (MV) of 2100 fps. This offered an increase of about 25 yards of practical range compared to the .22 WMR."

The Centurion brand has a 30 grain bullet at 2300 fps.

Taurus showed a 5mm magnum revolver at SHOT, which seems kind of silly to me. A good bolt action rifle is what is needed. The old Remington 591s and 592s are coming out of the closets and the guys speculating on dollar a pop collector's ammunition are feeling sad.

If it shoots as well as the 17 HMR fodder you can bet they'll be coming out of the woodwork to build guns for it. My bet is that Savage is first.

5mm magnum= .20 cal rimfire Remington introduced it in the mid '60's i think, along with their rifle , at the time you could buy 22lr ammo for < 50 cents for 50 and the 22 mag was already there. it flopped ! it would most likley have made it if it had the same advertising as the 17HMR and 17MII did. the older ammmo is being collected and if you had an original rifle some of them are going as collectors also.
