from Dr. Lunde:
"For those who didn't catch it, there was a 50BMG single-shot pistol shown at the SHOT Show, in the North Hall. The company is Triple Action LCC at booth #9255. I was able to get some photos. They have a video running that shows it being shot. It uses a nitrogen recoil dampening system, sort of like a hydraulic mechanism. Here are the photos:

This thing will probably never see the CA safe list. Move over SW500 this is one pistol that screams every 4 letter word as word to describe its badness.

Ye Gods. I don't even want to think about how much that will cost or what the recoil will be like.

And I guess the next time someone asks what they should pack for a grizzly bear we have a new winner.

I'd take one, but it would only be for the (symbolic) deterrence factor - because I sure as heck wouldn't fire it!:what:

That just doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

Bang/ ahh... my wrist is broken.... ah... so is my elbow... :what:

That must be one heck of a muzzle brake.:uhoh:

Recoil with military ammo can't be that bad. Half the powder wouldn't even be burnt before the bullet was out the muzzle.

Seriously, powder burns to 50 feet. Better have some good welding goggles to deal with muzzle blast...or go blind.

What a bunch of weenies. :neener: The recoil system probably works or else it never would have been manufactured (too much liability otherwise).

Theres a video on the net of a young lady.....not large at all, rather petite shooting a 50 BMG pistol.

No biggie...I believe LAR made the movie as it was made behind UT lake....a happy place for central Ut shooters. You can see Mt. Timpanogas in the back ground.

Anyway........the recoil wasnt that bad and Ill bet it wasnt this hi tech. Id shoot it but somebody else is gonna buy the ammo :D

Shoot well.

Unfortunately, if this pistol is marketed in the US, it will end the commercial sale of ALL .50 BMG AP, API, and APIT ammo, and will most likely also end the sale of standard GI steel core ammo.

If anyone has a contact for this company, please post it here. We need to urge them to table this idea pronto.
