bought a .56 caliber smoothbore renegade at a pawnshop today.$150 in wonderful shape.need some loading information if anyone can help please let me know.don't know how to do pictures yet.
Sure thing....direct from TCs shooting black powder firearms booklet. Instructions are for the ,56 REnegade smoothbore. .015" patches lubed with maxilube or natural lube and #11 caps. .550" diameter lead bullet 265 grains

Shot loading info
Powder amount is 80 grains FFg
Shot amount.... set your powder measure for 60 grains and use that much #6 or #7-1/2 of shot. This amount will be 7/8 oz.
Muzzle Velocity with this loading is 1116 fps.

took it out today and shot it.70 grains of goex 2f and a hornady .535 ball with the thickest patching i have.first two were within an inch.the third opened it up to 1 and a half inchs.i'm astounded at the accuracy of this smoothbore.i will get some wads from tow and try that too.
