I'm trying to figure out how I want to mount a 2-point adjustable sling to my 590a1 using QD's.
I'd like to use the same slings I have for my other rifles that have QD's on both ends.

I'll probably use Magpul's mag tube and barrel clamp thing up front, but the rear has me puzzled.
I'm interested in possibly installing a flush cup mount in the butt stock.
This is the flush mount.
This is the shotgun I have.

Is a flush mount a good/bad way of doing it? It seems to be the only QD mount that isn't sticking out of the side all of the time, which I'd rather avoid.
Does anyone have a recommendation or experience on where to put a flush cup in that particular stock?

You are looking at doing exactly what I have been planning to do with my 590A1. Haven't done it yet, but it looks like a decent option if I don't screw up the drilling and ruin the buttstock and install.

I will use the MagPul barrel/magtube clamp mount up front, and I had been looking at swapping out the buttstock with this (MagPul SGA stock):

but I recently tried one out, and just don't like it; the grip angle is wrong for me, plus the SGA is just plain ugly and spoils the classic lines of the shotgun.

The SpeedFeed stock fits me perfectly, so that flush mount may work. I'm gonna order one and place it on the left side of the stock a couple inches back and above the shell reservoir.
I've got the "Tactical" model:

Steve, I almost went with the SGA/MOE 51773 model that has a lot of the functional features I wanted, but it was a truckload more money... and while I wanted the features I didn't want the "look" and opted instead for the most basic/simplistic option that is still a 590a1, which is also the least costly.
But its kind of a pain now to put a qd sling on it...

If you look at the Magpul SGA, you'll see the integrated sling loop, and then just in front of that you'll see a circular plug. That is intend for mounting an optional QD cup. I feel like that cup mount is too far forward, but the integrated loop is in the location I would install the QD cup on a stock. Since you'll be drilling the stock anyway, I'd suggest getting a double sided mount. That would give you more options for sling mounting.
