Finally got to drop the hammer on my new 6.5 PRC on something other than a target. 450 yards on old Wiley Coyote. 156 grain Berger with 57 Grains MagPro. Dead on impact.

26” - 2860 fps last I checked. . Still pretty new barrel and slowly speeding up. Hoping for 2900+ without stressing brass. Maybe a little over 100 rounds through it so far.
This was my results from ladder / load development. As I said, it is still loosening up.

My latest Bartlein was the same way, by the time I got done with break-in and load development I'd gained around 50+ FPS. FYI I shot a couple yotes at a little over 300 with the Berger 105 Hybrid starting at 3150 at the muzzle (6mm SLR) and had less than stellar results. Both times the Hybrids penciled through and the yote went a ways before going belly up. Fantastically accurate TGT bullet, but IF I was going to use that rifle for varmints, I'd look for one of their varmint bullets.

I LOVE to see dead coyotes. A 450 yard shot deserves applause.

Nice looking country you got, looks very similar to what I hunt. See some guys touching 3000 with 24" with the 156 running hot in sure but impressive.

Scratch another dog at 400+ yds. Buzzards got to it before I went down to look at it today. But that is what they’re for.

And this is what is known as a Missouri Dogpile! Feed them buzzards . I’ve also seen an eagle picking at them, not to mention hawks and crows as well. But the buzzards really enjoy them. I’m happy to try and keep them fed.

Can probably sell the tails, I'd think there worth $10 or more. That's a good way to fund prc ammo. I have to try some of those 156s but I don't really have the ranges to reach out and get the benefits.

The benefits of the 156’s are the same at 100 yds as they are at 500 or 1000 yds. Dead coyotes. Lol. They are definitely tack drivers out of my 26” Browning x-bolt stalker.

Scratch another dog! 480 yds. 6.5 PRC Strikes again and the dogpile grows. Had to give this one a colonoscopy since it was headed dead away from me. But dead is dead. I’m sure he was happy to hear his colonoscopy results came back clear. Unfortunately his lead poisoning was at lethal levels.
