Fella's;
I agree on finding another gun than the CZ550 in 6.5X55. The 550 is an excellent Mauser-actioned rifle, but it's heavy. Therefore not so good for kids or other small-statured people. The 550's are still readily available, haven't seen a 557 yet, go figure.
At one time, a few years ago, Winchester made a run of model 70's in 6.5 Swede, it's a featherweight too I think. Had the schnable forend anyway. Sweet gun, but the bolt's on the wrong side for me. Another very good gun/caliber that's hard to find is the Remington 788 in 6mm Remington. They can shoot! I'd bet that if you get serious about checking the Euro manufacturer's catalogs, you'll find more than a couple of very nice 6.5's to choose from. I'm thinking of Steyr, Mannlicher-Schonauer, Mauser, and so forth.
