:D hello, i'm new to this site and was wondering if anyone has any experience with the 6.5x55 sweede i bought an 1896 mauser in this caliber and had it rebarreled with a #4 contour douglas barrel and laminated thumbhole stock from boyds new timney trigger had the bolt jeweled action polished and trued action bedded. havent had the chance to shoot it yet but when i do will post results and pictures if anyone is interested. Thanks for such a great sight .

Regardless of how many kittens died, I'd still like to see some pictures. (I'm a dog guy.) However, I'd be more interested in a range report. That should be quite the serious shooter. I'd expect it to shoot MOA. Let us know.

stiletto null.... yes i shot the rifle before doing the work that is why i customized it the mauser was not much when i bought it but for 65.00 dollars didn't expect much but the action was worth that and the gentleman that built the gun for me shot it after he was done and said it shot under MOA at hundred yards but like i said i haven't had the time to see what it will do myself.. but will soon and will post results and pics.Hey Hardcore wouldn]t want to sell that box of norma 6.5"s would u?

I am a fan of the 6.6X55
I have two 1891 Mauser, one 1889 Mauser, and one 1895
Mauser all in 6.5X55

Old Herters 6.5X55 brass was made by Norma.

I have a couple of new 6.5's and some olderones too.

Great deer round, some would say it is the best whitetail round.

Norma ammo is readily available. now win, rem and fed are making 6.5 swede ammo.

The 120 grain nosler partition loaded to about 2850 with reloader 15 is a great load.

mmm.... my top five list maker for centerfire rounds. so good, low recoil, reach waayyyy out, wind has a hard time moving it, one of the best if you are a reloader. Easy on throats and bbls, my next rifle will be either in 6mm remmy or 6.5 swede. Lot of long range shooters like this round.

6.5 follow up

:neener: guys thanks for all the feedback really appreciate it glad i discovered THE HIGH ROAD will try to post range results this weekend and pics of rifle

Oww. That grammar, or lack thereof, is giving me a headache.

It may not bother Art's Grammaw, but it surely gets his 3rd grade teacher worked up.

I have used the Swede for over 30 years. It is one of the best, if not THE BEST, White Tail deer caliber available. I have shot 2 Winchester Swedes, and currently own 2 SAKO Swedes.

From what I've heard it's a super fun and accurate round to shoot (and shoot well).

Hokkmike: Is it just a combination of flat shooting, low recoil, and accuracy that makes it a favorite? I don't see how it can top several other cartridges for whitetails.
