Hello out there. I recently built a TC prohunter configuration with an mgm 26" barrel in 6.5x65 rws improved. Ive been looking at data on 6.5-06 ackley and 25-06 ackley. Cartridge is Real close to 6.5 gibbs or sherman. I have shot powder ranges in 7828 ssc and best velocity was 3340 at 61 gr shooting 100 gr barnes ttsx. It was starting to spread the cci 200 primer out, so i didnt go up any further. I just got back from the range from shooting h4831. Ran 52-59 gr. best chrony speed was 59 gr at 3118 fps. I dont know what to do with this darn thing!!! I like the ttsx bullet but i know it will hit harder with speed. There are many out there running 3450-3500 with 100's. I checked cal on powder measure (ok.). I knew it had to be close because not a whole lot of room left in case at 59 gr. im wondering if i may have to run hotter rl17-imr 4831??? Any help would be much appreciated. I havent compressed any loads yet. Maybe i need a packed load of retumbo with a fed 215 m? Thanks

You will likely get more velocity out of RL22 than you will with H4831. But, whatever you do, find your load quickly, as the barrel life in a seriously overbore cartridge such as yours will not be long.;)

Thanks, i havent been able to find any rl22. I did wonder about it as many use it.

Drug out the ol' short mag powder this morning. (WW760). Finally found the burn speed for this thing for 100 grners. 3,436 @ 55 gr. primers looked ok. Think i can get more out of her once i get new brass. Primer pockets getting loose after all my high end loads.
May try rl17 before its over, but i can knock wm down pretty hard where its at!
