Years ago I had a wonderfully accurate Swedish Mauser, which I had to sell . The Swedes made a fine rifle, but a good part of the accuracy was attributable to the 6.5 X 55 ammo. Today, that same Swede is three times the cost, and surplus ammo doesn't exist-making shooting a bit expensive (yes, I know I could always reload, and I will when I have the time and the space ).
But the new 6.8 is getting great reviews, and supplies and stocks look as if they are multiplying. Does anyone know of a Mauser platform having been used for the caliber, or if there are inherent problems with using that caliber through a Mauser action?
