6.8 spc. Im liking what I see

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I been looking at the 6.8 SPC. and Im liking what I see for a Medium power gun for Deer,I think that would really fill in nice for 100 yard Deer round,in a bolt gun,
Does any one have a bolt gun, for this..whats your thoughts .

A few people have asked this question, there are no 6.8 bolties, IIRC. A few custom jobs, but i don't think you mean that. Why will a AR not work?

cant use them for Deer here in PA,
I have a T/C frame, and have one custom barrel in 223,and another in 30 herrett,,so I may contact bullberry for just that 6.8 in 24 in,

I hate that you can't use semi-autos here in Pa for hunting. I can understand if they made something about the magazine capacity but come on no semi's.

you can't use them even if your missing a arm, and Only have one finger on your other,

Im also looking in to the 260 also.I had shoulder surgery last year and shooting the heavier recoil guns just dont feel good.Even with the soft recoil pads, just dont work, then I get the jumps.because i know the pain comes right after the shot.

I'd like to see a CZ carbine in 6.8 but 6.5 Grendel is probably more likely. This subject is a sore point with me. I guess more horsepower sells, but it seems to me we need a good bolt action and a good lever action in calibers ranging from .25 to .277 and of medium power, suitable for deer and common under 100 yd ranges. We have the .25-35 Win but only in the overpriced Model 94 Trail's End. Nothing in a bolt that fits the description. For the OP, you might consider a .30-30 and use the managed recoil ammo. Recoil is hardly more than .223 and much better for deer at close range. Not sure if they make managed recoil ammo for the .260, but you could have someone make up some custom loads for you.

I have also been intrigued by the idea of a fairly light weight rifle in .260 or 6.8SPC. Spent the last couple of years thinking about a Ruger 77 compact model in .260 Rem. or a Savage in .257 Roberts, but never could make myself buy one. Now I've been thinking of the Mini 14 in 6.8SPC. I think the Mini is about to rope me in for double duty as a hunting rifle and as a plinker for the wife and son to enjoy also.

The 700P comes in 6.8 but you really don't get any advantage with that gun. It is heavy, expensive, and you don't gain anything by going to a bolt gun in that caliber.

I have to much stuff,,I didnt think I ever say that but my safe is full.and mostly full of stuff I dont shoot,,I like to sell some, not give it away, But sell.
