A standard lower will do. The only 6.8 specific parts you need are barrel, bolt, and magazines. The preferred specification is a SPCII chamber, and 1 in 11 or less twist. It shoots the most accurately with the least pressure.
ARPerformance, Bison, White Oak, and others are good to go. C Products, PRI, and Barrett make good mags.
You need ammo, it's all on the internet. 6.8 is not a milsurp caliber, ammo prices are no worse than commercial. SSA and a dozen others are online, in most states it can ship to your front door.

It's a level playing field, they own other calibers, too, very little problem asking questions, but like any forum, there is a search feature and stickies that can go a long way.
http://www.ar15.com/ << These guys have the stickies in the Build it Yourself section that show exactly how to do it. Read them, too. Search only goes back 30 days due to the huge archives, a membership is needed for that. There is some awesome info in that, like thermographic studies measuring temps on DI vs Piston guns that show it's not what people think.
Enjoy your build, the only two problems are spending too much money, and discovering the average shooter doesn't really have a clue about AR's. Most of what's repeated is flat wrong, just ask where the piston is on it. They can't even see it when you point at the gas rings.
