6.8 spc spec2 loads

Does anyone load/shoot the 6.8?? Looking for loads with hornady 110 gr v max and the 120 gr sst''s.
Hornadys newest manual has loads for this round. Start with minimum loads and work one that best suits your particular firearm. Reduce 110gr. V-Max data by 10% if using Remington 115 gr fmj. Slight roll crimp is preferred or use Lee Factory crimp die with the 120 SST and Rem 115 gr. fmj

I have had great accuracy with Sierra Pro Hunters and Nosler Accubonds (both 110 grain). I can put a little more powder behind the SPH's flat base, but I prefer the Accubond for a good hunting bullet with great accuracy. I also have a ladder of SSTs waiting for a range visit.

H322 is the only powder I have tried but I like it enough to stay with it. Heavier bullets get a little more velocity with Rl10x and many are liking AA2200.

Sorry, you asked about the VMax and all I did was offer something else. After hearing so many reports of inaccuracies with the 110 VMax, I skipped it and have not attempted any loads. It isn't any cheaper or more common than other bullets that have gotten better reputations. There is a good bit of info at 68forums.com that might help too.

The SST is too new to have a lot of data available. Handload reports that I have seen thus far have been good, but I still have to try my own.

Most published 6.8 load data is for the standard chamber (much like .223 rem). The SPC II chamber will let you load a little more aggressively (much like 5.56 NATO), but don't get carried away and always keep a close eye on your brass for signs of pressure as you work up. I believe Barnes has included SPC II data in their most recent edition too.

let me know what you find in the sst's that's what i'm really wanting to load as soon as they become readily aval. the factory loading shoots excellent in mine but they wont give load specs.

They're probably not using consumer grade powder in their factory loads with the SST. Makes no sense to advertise the composition of a load that can't be reproduced.
