I have a Glock 20 10mm and love it. I would like to get a Lone Wolf 45 Slide for it. Do you guys have any thoughts on shooting 45 out of a 6" barrel vs a 5" barrel? I'd really like to know if the extra inch does much for the 45.

I'm considering this as a "light stand" gun.

Thanks!

A G21L is an idea I believe Gaston should have made along time ago, right along with a G20L.

Just get a 6" barrel, it cann't hurt. Let us know how it works out!!

My thoughts are, that if you want a 6" bbl pistol, get something with tighter frame rails, tighter bbl/slide fit at the muzzle, and tighter bbl lockup at the breech than a Glock.

On the other hand, if you shoot your 10mm Glock well, are buying a .45 ACP bbl. for it anyway, and don't plan to carry it (holster selection & concealment) then why not go for the longer bbl?

The G20 will not take a 45 barrel. The breechface is too small. A G21 can be used with a 10mm barrel.

My G37 is not tight, but it turns out 2" 25 yard groups with Silvertips and lawman 185s. I imagine a longer barrel would not be worse because the slide to frame fit has a bit of wobble to it. Only way it could happen is if the barrel was of poor quality, even then a tight fitting gun will be just as bad..

Well I have a Kimber 45 which is laser accurate and 100% reliable.

I plan on getting the Lone Wolf 45 slide and barrel which will go right on my G20 frame. I'm not sure if the Lone Wolf slide is a tighter fit, I know the barrel chamber is.

I'm doing this for fun, flexibility and basically I will have a G20 and G21 in the end. I use the G20 for 4 legged critter defense and would like the G21 for 2 legged critter defense... probably not for carry though.

I'm not sure if the Lone Wolf slide is a tighter fit, I know the barrel chamber is.

I've a LWD conversion barrel. It might be tighter, but it sure is less accurate than the stock barrel. That is to say I shoot .40 out of a subcompact GLOCK with the stock barrel more accurately than 9mm out of the LWD conversion barrel. I've shot 3 different kinds of 9mm ammo through it, so I'm pretty sure it's the barrel. I'm not the only one who has had these kinds of results, either.

KKM makes, or at least used to make, a 6" G21 barrel. I might be tempted to pay more to try that one.

But as for your question, yeah. I think a 6" G21 would be pretty awesome for more muzzle weight, faster followups, and longer sight radius.

That ballistics by the inch website was exactly what I needed

This is the first time I've heard complaints about LWD barrels, has anybody else had similar problems? I have two that have been great, but I wouldn't mind trying KKM.

He got a lemon, no biggie, it happens.

From what I have heard from other Glock owners they say the Lonewolf is better than KKM.

I use the factory barrels, never had a problem with them ao I do not know myself. Just what I hear from live people NOT on the internet.
