Can anyone recommend an IWB (and also a belt) holster for my S&W 649 (2 1/8" b.) Bodyguard snubbie? The holsters advertised for the J-frame don't always specify "649 Bodyguard" - and I'm not sure if the 649 is bulkier than some J-frames. I like the way some of the newer holsters with the tight retention look, but they don't say specifically 649 bodyguard. Recommendations?

When ordering a holster that is tightly fitted/molded to the contours of the gun, you need to specify that it is a 2 1/8" barreled .357 model. It would not fit into one made for a standard .38, which has a 1/4" shorter barrel that has no ejector rod shroud and a slightly shorter frame. Any holster maker worth his salt will know the difference and will make or have a holster for your model. If it is just a "generic fit" "cloth-and-sponge pouch" this does not matter. The contours of the rear of the gun make no difference, as this part does not go into the holster anyway.

Mika makes a comfortable IWB and pocket holster for the J frame.

As for a belt holster, I like both DeSantis and Don Hume holsters. I own several DeSantis Speed Scabbard holsters. They are comfortable and they work. Even though the DeSantis site has them for $62 they can be found in local stores for $43.
