Hi Guys RMR has these on hand and I was thinking about buying 2K. Is the $265 price a decent deal for this bullet? (less the 5% for the THR discount of course).

RMR pretty much can't be beat. Sure you can waffle a bit on a few cents here or there but that crew really seems to take care of it's customer base.

Now if those were a major name bullet packed in boxes of 100 at $42 ea

Looks to me like that's a little over $800 in bullets you'd be getting from RMR for $265.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I've never loaded that bullet before, so I wasn't entirely sure. I can't even seem to find them as bullets only anywhere, just complete rounds. I order almost exclusively from RMR so it wasn't really about being from them as much as about that particular round.

I assume---------------

64 grain what caliber? I assume you mean .223. If so here's what the 64 grain Nosler bonded do in my wax test media;

Yes .223

I picked up 500 of the 64 gr's. Anyone have a clue of the mfg. Speer???

I would guess Speer or Nosler, right?

My $42 example came from Midway who has 100 round boxes of the unnamed name brand.

Jake prob can't say. If he did he might not be able to ever buy any more to sell us.

No harm done I bet.

" These are worth a lot more than their sale price dictates"

I'm betting we aren't far off in our thinking. You know, if it quacks like a duck etc.

Different bullet but I have had good results with the 62gr pulled Federal Fusions from RMR.
Snuffy was nice enough to test them for me in the wax media and they performed very well.
(Thanks again Snuffy. Still need to test the Harley bullets, I haven't forgotten about results :) )

I ended up getting the 2K. I've always had good luck with RMR. I was more curious about this particular bullet because I don't have any experience with it.

If you do a google search for 64 grain bonded, you will only get the nosler. Which this is not!!

These bullets are not typically sold as a reloading component. They are usually sold in premium ammunition. Which is why they don't want us saying where they came from. They don't want to hurt their ammo dealers. We've sold them as a pulled component before where we are allowed to say what they are, but because they are newly manufactured and first quality we can't advertise what they really are. I hope this helps, but thats about as good a description as I can give. I really try to be complete in all my agreements.

Which is fair, and Jake's not doing anything other sellers don't. Without the agreement, he would have to pass on a deal for his customers.

I was really torn between the 62 grain and 64 grain version, but ended up going with the 64 grain soft points. If they are what I think they are, they should work perfectly as a general purpose hunting/defense round.

Please be sure and post load data and results as you guys start testing them. I'm eager to hear how these work out for everyone.

Speer 64gr Gold Dots... ( just a guess ) note the base of the bullet, the Speer GD's look just like that.

Hope they're accurate, just ordered 1k. I have a fresh jug of TAC, time to work up some loads. I'll also stash a couple hundred for HD once I get a good load.

IMO they are 64gr Speer Gold Dots. They look to have a completely different base and Ogive than the Nosler 64gr. I sure hope they are the Speers because I almost bought 200 factory loaded rounds a few days ago...I just got 500 bullets for $73!!! Can't beat that with a stick

Sweet, I just ordered a bunch of the 62 grain. Gotta support my fellow Idahoans!
Hey, I got my first deer up there in Idaho. But it was with an 18 wheeler. :D
Use to haul dynamite, back in the '80s, up to Kellogg. Beautiful county!

THANK YOU! for the pic and the awesome deal on these bullets. Until yesterday I had no idea that RMR even existed. I have placed an order and will order in the future.
