Anyone loading the sierra 65gr game kings for 223? I want to try them out on some coyotes soon. Just curious how they perform in regards to saving fur.

The 65gr GK are what I use in my varmint gun. I have not tested them on coyotes though. I have used them on coons, skunks, and a few possums though. They do a lot of damage if you don't put it in the correct place, opens them up like a can opener. A few neighbors have used them for coyotes control, but they are not after the fur either. So I really can't help you a lot. I have never found the bullet, through and through in all cases, 100yrd shots. One of my neighbor is using his 260 Rem of the coyotes.

I've been using the blitz king bullets with good results I was just wanting something a little heavier for the wind

The 65sgks are what i use for my .223/556 hunting ammo (mostly at 2850-3000). Ive shot quite a bit of game from 40-150lbs, and if the bullet exits expect a 2+ exit wound.

I've shot deer with them. I've always gotten exits, and soon dead deer. Sierra states they are a light big game bullet.
I've found them adequately accurate from a 1/12" twist Rem M7 .223 (as accurate as it shoots anything). Very accurate from a couple of 1/9" twist AR's. They are very good bullets, but too pricey for shooting varmints and general use. For that, nothing beats a Hornady 55gr bulk soft points, which are now even better as they are boat-tails. I recently got 1,000 for $87 shipped. They kill deer just as well as the 65gr GK at 1/2 the price.

I noticed that too and that just seems weird to me. Why change a bullet from flat-based to boat-tailed and keep the old item #? Why not offer it as a new item?

Maybe they'll shoot better in my .223 as a boat-tail. My Ruger really liked the 55g Sierra BTHP GameKing and the 53g Hornady V-Max but the bulk 55g Hornady soft points scattered over the target...

The GameKing has a substantially better ballistic coefficient.
The 63prohunter is/was intended for 1/14"-1/16" twist rifles, i.e.: .222Rem and older .22-250, .225win, .219Zipper, .219 DonaldsonWasp and such. The 65gr GK for light big game with .223.

Re: BT 55gr. Sells better and has higher b.c. for the prarie dog shooters. Less drop, and more importantly less wind drift.
Not every one shoots deer out their kitchen window Like I do. The buck in my avatar fell to my .223 Christmas day '17 at 7:30am with 60gr Hornady w/c blem over 26.0gr RL15. 205yds lased.
First thing my son-in-law; -former special forces, airborne ranger, Desert Shield, Iraqi War vet had ever seen shot with a .223 that didn't walk on two legs... But it was my daughter who showed him how to blood track, and found the deer. (I watched, supervised!) I'd seen it go down... after 100yd dash.

I like these bullets and the 64 gr Winchester Power Points. They are both very accurate bullets in my Sako .223 rifles which have 1/12 twist 22" barrels. They are my choice for deer and varmints.

I was never able to get the Win Power Points to shoot at all well. They behaved as badly as milsurp 55 gr FMJ bullets. I tried Varget, BL-C2, H335, H4895. I conlcuded they were poorly formed or something, not very good quality for the price I paid. The Sierra GK was decently accurate in my loads. Not as sweet as match bullets but as good as any other tipped or SP bullet in .223.

What powder did you use for the Win PP?
