This is a sporter 22" Savage; taking it after some does soon.
So going with some 100 gr. pills probably but do have some 90 gr Accubond.
First, this is the shortest throated factory rifle I havd seen. OAL to touch lands is as follows:
Hornady 100 gr. interlock 2.715"
Sierra 100 gr. Pro Hunter 2.650"
Sierra 100gr. Game king 2.665"
That is right. Load a Game King to SAAMI max and you are 0.060" into the lands. Never saw that before, but I digress.
Previously tried 100 gr. Game Kings 0.065" off the lands with H414 and groups were not stellar.
Powders on hand are H414, RL17.
If you have any input on 243 Win. loading, for this apication, please share!

I got my best accuracy with 100gr pro hunter and Speer SPBT over h414 at 39.5gr. COAL was 2.65". WLR primer.

Ruger American Compact
The throat in this rifle is very short. Chamber must be very close to min spec.

I was loading for a Savage 110 at one time. It loved the Seirra and Speer bullets over H1000 near Max.

I don't have your powders so, probably can't help you there. One of mine prints bugholes with the 90 gr Accubond and a dose of IMR4350. Getting right at 3200 fps as well. Hammers these little whitetails here in Texas.

My current hunting load is 38.5 H414 with a 100gr pro-hunter. I measure COAL using a Hornady comparator so it is different than yours, but my notes say I'm between .010 and .020 off the lands. Using a LR Magnum primer I get decent hunting loads. At the time I developed this load H414 was the only usable powder I could find.

I've had good luck in ALL my 243's(rem 700adl, 700bdl, ruger 77, ruger American) with imr 3031

Reloder19 (40.9 grains I THINK, don't have my notes here), 95 grain Nosler BT, jumped .025" or so, CCI primer, Hornady brass. Shoots half MOA in my gf's Axis.

Edit - took a nice sized whitetail doe at 150 yards this last fall. Dropped where it was standing.

I run h1000 for 95+ anythings, Imr 4831 for the 8590 everythings BUT I've had great results with 4451, 4831SC, h380, and not bad with 414/760 but I generally don't touch ball powders cuz of my temperature extremes; between the two you've listed, I'd run the rl17, if you're looking at close range shots and don't need the velocity I'd recommend 4166, its accuracy is quite nice in the midrange loads and it'll run 55-100 gr. Of the bullets listed, I'm a hardcore sucker for the prohunters, but with your twist rate, the rl 17 and accubond might be the ticket.

Update
Hornady brass cci 200 primer 100 gr. Hornady Interlock Spirepoint RL. 17 40.0 gr. 2.685" OAL
Shoots sub moa in my rifle. No sign of pressure. Mild recoil . Sighted 2.6" high hitting 2" high at 220 yd. Pretty flat shooting.

I didn't load any deer ammo for the .243 Win this year, because we didn't expect that anyone would hunt with the two rifles I own this past season. However, I had some left-over handloads with 80 grain Hornady GMX copper bullets and they were used by friends and relatives. The previous year, I shot a 140 lb. buck at 200 yards with them and had a one-shot kill. I used recommended IMR 4350 loads and CCI Standard primers.

This November, one guy had to shoot one deer 4 times to kill it and the other hit one in a poor location and it got away. The grand-kids who used the rifles and loads in the past achieved one-shot kills at ranges from 40-180 yards. After this past season, I checked the zero and it was still perfect.

Still, I'd probably choose Nosler 90 grain Accubonds or Ballistic Tips if we need to use the.243s for deer again. Actually, I may just buy some .243 Winchester - Deer Season XP factory loads and call it good. I have some for my .270 and they shoot very well.

I've never gotten good accuracy with H414 in the .243.
With a 90-100gr bullet, start with 39.0gr of IMR4350.
I use 41.5 with either a 95gr tipped whatever (Nosler or Hornady) or 100gr Sierra.
Gets 3,000fps, very,very accurate.
How?, depends on how accurate your gun is. Last two .243's I had, around 1/2moa 5-shots. IMR4831 and H4831 have been good too, as well as RL22 in a Stevens 200. But none as good as good ole IMR4350.
