So I’m wanting to get my kids a 6mm arc for hunting and target work to build skill and confidence

Seekins precision dmr is what I want, I’ve reached out to them for answers on some of this, but I’d like to hear yallls experience as well

the Seekins dmr has only two drawbacks,

one is the stock, I need this to be a carbine so it can get short enough for a kid. Does the arc play well enough that I could just drop it on a carbine lower and rock and roll with minor tweaks to the Gas block? Or does it need specific buffers and springs?

the other is the barrel, I don’t want a 22” barrel, 18” would be better for me, and less weight,

What do you all know about the cartridge?

No need for special springs or buffers. No issue at all for standard buffers and springs. I use H2 buffers in my rifles, including my 243LBC (6 ARC on steroids), and my son’s 6 ARC.

Lots of 18” 6 ARC’s around. But 22” does get more out of the little round.

I opted for a 20" Proof barrel for my 6mm ARC build on a Falkor upper/lower. I plan to run it suppressed so compromised a bit. I'm still learning about the cartridge, magazines, BCG etc.

Just heard back from seekins, they also said no issue with carbine lower,

They did say that they do not offer different barrels, now it’s up to me if I want to try something different, build my own (a first) or get a longer barrel
