I think you answered your own question. 99.999% of hunters aren't going to pay for a low powered 243 that’s 3oz and 1/2” inch less than a remington 700. 3 oz is less than a butt cuff of loaded ammo.

I'd say a pound maybe two less in weight with a equivalent rifle.

People love to talk about the .308 cartridges being better than the -06 cartridges because they are "short action" But there is actually a larger difference going to the "micro action" from short.


New idea... 6mm BR Fury. I know it's a little premature as the 277 Fury isn't even out yet, and the CZ527 probably can't handle it but 3000fps with a 105 out of a 16-18" barrel would be pretty cool.
