Armored farmer

Today marked our 6th annual shooting event. We call it cabin fever because it is the first formal shoot of the year. I have a heated shed, and we shoot off the covered porch. If the weather happens to be bad, we spend most of our time inside telling hunting stories, eating, and talking about guns. Today, however was as good as we could have asked for...mid 50s, bluebird skies, gentle wind 5-7 mph quartering away.
My target boards were set a 35yds. All shots from the bench. We had good scores of 45s, 44s, 46s with a few Xs thrown in here and there.
Mrs Farmer and i provided hams for the 1st place winners, and sausage for 2nd place for each of three relays. Another member donated two handmade knives for prizes.
After the awards, mrs farmer presented a large roaster pan full of corned beef and cabbage, and homemade bread for our supper. Several members brought desserts. Our monthly club meeting followed the meal.
I host this event every year, as it is good incentive for a major spring shop cleaning.!
A good time was had by all 15 shooters, and three spectators. I am always a little relieved that there are no incidents of any kind.

A better view of the target stand. This competitor is aiming at the 180yd gong. It was set to recreate a successful shot by a fellow club member on an antelope last fall. (Nobody hit the gong, btw).
With this event in the books, I am looking forward to attending the Alvin York memorial shoot in pall mall, Tennessee on March 27. It sure would be great to see some fellow THR bp enthusiasts there.
