6x Scope For 458 SOCOM

I'm looking for a 6x scope that doesn't cost a fortune for my Rock River AR-15/458 SOCOM. Any suggestions?

6x seems a little much for what is basically a short range thumper caliber.

Wouldn't you be better served with less power and a much wider field of view?

I'd think 3x or a red-dot would be way plenty for it.

You are probably right. I just wanted to see how I liked it. I figure if I didn't, I would move it to a .223 upper and maybe try a 3x or something else.

Well, how about a low power variable then?

1x will give you the same wide field of view as open sights for close range & running game.
Just a far brighter image in low light.

Cranked up to 3x or 4x, you have plenty of power for as far as the .458 SOCOM can be shot before trajectory gets unmanageable.
