I recently acquired a Finn marked 7.35 carcano at a local gunshot. After looking online it doesn't seem that any one manufactures ammunition for it. Does any company make reloading supplies for 7.35 carcano, or have I essentially purchased a wall hanger? If it is possible to reload, what would I need? I've not started hand loading yet, but this could be the excuse I need to finally invest in a reloading press

I have an Italian Carcano in 7.35 (I didn't know the Finns made one!) and the ammunition is commercially available. I think I ordered mine through Graff and Sons. Harder to find was the clip used to hold the ammunition in the magazine. It drops from the bottom when emptied.

Ok thanks. Where did you find an en-block clip? Should I just search gunbroker? What's reasonable? I saw some on Liberty tree 3 for $21 but that seemed a bit high. And I believe the story with the finn marking is after the Italian army didn't transition away from their 6.5 mm cartridge some of the 7.35 rifles were sold to the Finnish to fight against the Russians. So it's not actually Finnish manufactured

I don't reload the caliber. Bullets and dies are available. Privi makes brass. Graff and Sons appears to have the bullets (.300). Now you just need some data. Or just buy Privi already loaded ammo.

As it happens the old 1981 NRA "Handloading" sits on my desk and it list 2 loads using the old Hornady 128 grain .300 with Dupont 3031 or 4064 and a load for the Speer 150 with 3031.

It also mentions that brass can be made from .220 Swift by lathe turning the rim and extractor groove.

My even older edition of Cartridges of the World lists 128 grain hornady .300 with 3031 (actually the same load as NRA which they list as having 37170 CUP) and 4895.

For 150s CotW lists loads with 4320, HV-2, and H-380 so all you need is a time machine for some of those powders.

CotW suggest making reloadable bras from 6.5x54 Mannlicher brass by expanding the leck full length resizing and then trimming to proper length.

CotW also mentions that Carcanos are only good to 38,000 CUP and says to not exceed its loads........I would want to "sneak up" on those loads from slightly lesser loads.

CotW list the original military Italian loading as a 128 grain FMJ at 2483 fps which is within 12 fps of the listed 3031 load.
