Dad paid $1.00 for a very odd cartridge at an antique show recently and passed it on to me. It was labeled "7.5 Swiss" (just a small card with it) and it does seem to match my 7.5 ammunition pretty closely. It consists mostly of light green plastic in the shape of a cartridge loaded with a round nose bullet. The last 3/8" or so, basically the case head and about another 1/4" of visible brass forward to where it joins the plastic. It has what appears to be a real primer, and the case head is marked as follows:

T A
64
It feels like the brass is undersized beneath the plastic and runs the full length of the normal "case," but the "bullet" at the tip is hollow and fairly thin plastic--you can squeeze it like a thin plastic bulb. I can hear powder of some sort inside.
Is this a 7.5 blank? Do you think it's designed for the Schmidt-Rubin series, the SIG 550, or both? Can anybody tell me why the long plastic body? Maybe just to make it hard to mistake for a live round?
Thanks!
