Anyone know what the commie factory load balistics were for millitary ammo?
What I am getting at here is this round in brand x or y nutered kind of like most civilian 5.56 is compared to mil spec 5.56
I see that the wolf ammo has 2396 fps vs federal's 2300fps.
Anyone know who has the hottest 120grain load for 7.62x39 that is cost effective?

The Wolf ammo is giving you milspec ballistics, although the projectile is different. The Federal stuff is very close, though.

7.62x39 Type PS Ball (the M43 round) shoots a 122 grain boatail at about 2300 - 2350 fps. The bullet has a mild steel core, surrounded by a lead sheath, contained inside a (usually) steel jacket. Yugo 7.62x39 is loaded with a flat based lead core bullet which supposedly gives better terminal ballistics than PS ball.

Steel-core 7.62 M43 is considered by the military to be ball, not AP. However, under US law, it's now considered AP handgun ammo, since Olympic Arms introduced an AR pistol in it. So, while it is legal to own it is no longer legal to import it nor is it legal for a dealer to sell it. (Federal law determines whether handgun ammo is AP based on composition, not terminal ballistics.) This is what cut off the supplies of cheap milsurp steel core ammo from China, Germany, etc. :cuss: Of course, some of us have a bunch squirreled away.
