I would like to hear your experiences with different barrel lengths on 7.62x39 platforms, specifically 16" vs 20." Some say the longer barrel tends to cause more vibration leading to lesser accuracy, while others say they get better results with a longer barrel and sight radius.

Also, I'm not expecting a longer barrel to be quiet, but is muzzle blast noticeably reduced with an extra four inches?

Thanks for your input.

usually longer is better comparing sks from my dads yugo 22 inch to my brothers 16 inch. the 16 is louder and has way more muzzle flash. and i think the 22inch is alot more accurate

The benifets garnered from the longer sight radius will far outweigh any theroetical increase in accuracy due to harmonics with a shorter tube.

I've shot 7.62x39's with barrels from 16 to 26 inches long, if there's a diffrence in report and blast I never noticed it.
