I have almost a whole pound to 2400 sitting around so I thought I would see if there was any load data for the 7.62x39 round. I found several loads on loaddata.com and wondered if anyone here had any experence with 2400 in 7.62x39. I know it is not the first choice in powder for this round but it's just sitting on the self so...what the heck.

For 123 HDY SP they show 15.3 gr max charge with a 2.155 COL. get 1915 FPS. I was thinking of starting at 13.8gr. Anyone tried it?

These will be shot from my AK WASR

Yes, tried it in my Ruger. Powder burns to fast to cycle the action of my Ruger. YMMV, but I think you will have cycling issues. Remember, just because a fast powder doesn't have enough port pressure to cycle the action, doesn't mean that Chamber pressures are low.

I couldn't get it to cycle in my Sig 556 r...up to the max with a gas checked 130 grain cast bullet...nothin...
