Hello all,
I'm new to the site but, have enjoyed reading a lot of the post already. I am also pretty new to reloading and am learning a lot. I have Mosin Nagant 7.62x54r that I have restored.
I'm looking for some reloading info for 7.62x54r.
I have 159gr PPU SPBT and 180gr Sierra spitzers. Both in .311 diameter. I'm looking for a good load to shoot with both.
I'm not sure about the powder or load and would appreciate any help.
Thank you all in advance and I'm looking forward to learning alot from this site.

I reload 7.62x54r to spare my M39 of corrosive ammo. I use IMR4320 as my go-to, but unfortunately, the word is that 4320 is being discontinued. I have only experimented with 4064 with lackluster results. I have heard that Varget is great to use, I've loaded some of it, just haven't been out to test it.

With your 180 grain bullets, 53 grains of either H4350 or IMR4350 should give you about 2650 FPS. In my Finnish M39, this load measures about 51 KPSI.

I've had good luck with IMR 4064, 4350 and Varget in the cartridge following Lyman and Hornady data. Varget required Winchester primers for best accuracy. I've loaded 150 through 180 grains with these powders. If your brass is/was fired only in your specific rifle, you will likely benefit by moving headspace to the shoulder by backing your sizing die off a full turn.

make sure your dies are resizing the cases correctly. My Lee set came with a decapper that was resizing to .308 and I had to order one for a 303 British to get to the .311 diameter
