I own rifles in 7mm mag and 7-08 and had an XP-100 in 7mmBR - all are great for what they were designed for. I would love a real light rifle in 7mm BR or even 6mmBR as a predator gun.
To ME, the mag is a big push in my 700 BDL, whereas the 7-08 is more of a smack in my light Model 7. My XP 100 was easier on the hand and wrist than my 4" 357.
The 7BR loved 120s, the 7-08 loves 140s and the 7mag loves 160s. All have their place.
